Organic and biodynamic wines represent one of the most controversial segments of the wine business. Serious winemakers have long used natural farming methods to maintain the health of their soil and vines, but there has been a recent upsurge of interest in the biodynamic teachings of Rudolph Steiner. Steiner uses the natural rhythms of the earth envisioning the farm as an organism, a self-contained entity with its own individuality. There exists a lot of confusing and contradictory information floating around about these terms. In this seminar we will clear up any confusion with clear definitions while drinking eight of the leading proponents of organic and biodynamic wines… Eric Bordelet Sidre Doux, Jacques Selosse Champagne "Brut Initial" NV Nicolas Joly Savennieres "Clos de la Coulee de Serrant", 2004 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet, 2007 Domaine Zind Humbrecht Riesling "Brand", 2007 Domaine de l'Arlot Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru "Les Petits Plets", 2006 Clos Rougeard Saumur Champigny "Les Poyeux", 2005 Chateau Pontet Canet, Pauillac 2006 |
