Okay, it's not that these beers are illegal, it's that they were not always recognized - legally speaking - as beer. For thousands of years, wonderful beers were made without hops, but they have become rather rare. Well, these "illegal" beers (gruits) are making a comeback and in class you can taste and learn about these amazing brews.
