B.R. Cohn wines this week at Khoury’s Fine Wine
Wednesday (10/7/09) 6-8pm at Khoury’s on S. Durango / Thursday (10/8/09) 6-8pm at Khoury’s on S. Eastern
Please join us this week as we taste through the wines from B.R.Cohn, one of the most famous and recognized wineries from the Sonoma region of California. Landon Patterson, B.R. Cohn’s representative will be tasting several wines from their line up including the very allocated Olive Hill Cabernet and the small production Point Noir.
There is a big rumor that Landon might be bringing by some of B.R. Cohn’s famous Olive Oil that will be used as give-aways and incentives during the tasting events
2006 B.R. Cohn Olive Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
B.R. Cohn Winery has consistently produced one of the premier Cabernets in California from the Olive Hill Estate Vineyards where soils warmed by underground natural hot springs and gentle coastal breezes create a unique microclimate resulting in ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The warm 2006 growing season, along with a light crop and small concentrated berries at Bruce Cohns’ Olive Hill Vineyard, gave us one of our best Cabernets. This wine has much of the ripeness of 2005 with very pronounced aromas and flavors of plum, black currant, and cherry. As always, this exceptional vintage was fermented in small lots to ensure the character of each part of the Olive Hill Vineyard. This vintage was aged for 24 months in only the finest tight grain French oak. A bouquet of fine oak, anise and mint combine with supple tannin, a long finish and strong fruit to produce a well-balanced Cabernet that will age gracefully for years to come and drink well at your table now. 4,400 6pk cases produced
2007 B.R. Cohn Pinot Noir
The 2007 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is produced from the finest vineyards in this appellation. It is a complex, lush wine with aromas of black cherry, raspberry and strawberry intermingled with a bouquet of vanilla, caramel and spice. It is rich and smooth on the palate with a lasting finish.
Our 2007 Pinot Noir was aged for 19 months in only the finest French Burgundy barrels.
While B.R. Cohn Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a pleasure to enjoy on its own, it will also fare well with a wide range of entrees, complementing dishes such as lamb, duck or grilled salmon. I hope you enjoy this wine as much as my family and I do.
Only 1,000 cases produced
2007 B.R. Cohn Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2007 Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon reflects a blending of grapes grown from the B.R. Cohn Olive Hill Estate Vineyard and select North Coast vineyards. This combination offers full, rich flavors of berry, cassis and black cherry with hints of vanilla in the background.
Aging with French oak adds complexity and depth, resulting in a high quality Cabernet Sauvignon with great value.
2008 B.R. Cohn Chardonnay
Our 2008 Sonoma County Chardonnay is packed with pear, apple and citrus aromas, and shows exceptional depth and body. It offers rich flavors of green apple with a hint of lemon, and is surrounded by toasty French oak, followed by a clean, crisp, lingering finish. This Chardonnay is fermented in French oak barrels and aged sur lies. It is a blend of the best Chardonnay vineyards in Sonoma’s cool growing regions. Enjoy it on its own, or pair it with your favorite grilled seafood or poultry. 4,400 cases produced
