The American Institute of Wine and Food, Rhode Island Chapter, presents the 4th annual Chef Smackdown, on Monday, November 2 at 6:00 at the Hotel Viking, One Bellevue, in Newport. Newport chefs compete with Providence chefs, preparing 10 tasting courses with wine pairings, for participants to vote on their favorites to determine the winning team. Proceeds benefit the AIWF-RI Patricia Tillinghast memorial Scholarship at Johnson & Wales and the Days of Taste program for elementary school students. $125 all inclusive, or $100 early bird member if register by Sept. 30.
