Local Wine Events

Benoit Marguet, the passionate winemaker reponsible for the delightful cuveés from this small Ambonnay grower-producer, will be joining us in Chicago for this special tasting.  Ambonnay is renowned for its Pinot Noir.  Marguet's Grand Cru vineyards here have been in the family for generations and have been producing wine since 1905.  Benoit is refreshingly unapologetic when it comes to his very particular take on what makes truly great champagne.  His is thoroughly involved in every step of the process, from just the right cover crop in the vineyard to the perfect label design for the full range of their cuvées.  Our staff visited with Benoit and his wife, Séverine Launois (yes, that Launois), last year on our trip to the region, and it was clear to us all that this is a young man utterly consumed by every facet and detail of his family's wine's production and presentation. All of us surely benefit from his fervor.   Please join us for this special event.
