For the reds, 1999 Burgundy has been hailed as an outstanding vintage, loaded with fruit flavors, supple tannins and lively personalities. Growing conditions were just about perfect in 1999, with periods of hot and dry weather at the end of August and beginning of September providing a very large crop of healthy and ripe grapes. 1999 is a Pinot lover's dream. Not only do the wines posses a focused precision of terroir but they are remarkably forward, and succulent with a wonderful clarity of fruit and beautiful, lively, ripe Pinot flavors. According to Allen Meadows aka the Burghound: “There are few hard edges and the tannins are refined and silky. There is a velvety quality about them that permits many of the wines to be quite seductive, even sexy….Another important consideration in a year like 1999 was…excess production from a grand cru could have been down streamed to a premier cru and excess production from that premier cru was then added to a villages wine and so on.” Join us for a delicious evening of classic burgundy celebrating one of the all time great vintages. Wines include: Comte de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru; Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques; C. Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru; Comte Armand Pommard Clos des Epeneaux; N. Potel Vosne- Romanée Les Malconsorts, Volnay Clos des Chênes and Savigny-lès-Beaune Rouge; Ponsot Chambolle- Musigny Les Charmes; H. Gouges Nuits-St.- Georges La Perrière; M.
