“I vant to drink your . . . Wine!”
HalloWine2009 is a themed weekend at the wineries in the Rattlesnake Hills featuring artist-carved pumpkins, harvest soups, chocolate, costumed staff, and new releases. Looking for a way to wear that awesome costume all day before heading to the party? This is it!! The treats at many wineries are special discounts on wine and/or treats for visitors dressed in costumes. Wineries are open from 10 AM – 5 PM with a few open until 6 PM. HalloWine2009 is Saturday, October 31, the day of Halloween.
No charge – complimentary event. Wine tasting is the perfect way to spend Halloween day! Purchase a $10 Passport at any of the wineries for special discounts and tastings! Here are some of the supernatural occurrences at the Rattlesnake Hills wineries this weekend:
Bonair Winery will be celebrating HalloWine2009 with SPOOKY, STRANGE people in the tasting room to pour your wine on Hallowine Weekend. Those customers who show up in COSTUME will receive our UNDYING CACKLING gratitude and a special HALLOWINE PRIZE. Hungry? Try our special Tapas CONCOCTION, prepared by our resident HAG. Remember to say, ‘TRICK OR TREAT” and you will get a really great CHOCOLATE EYEBALL to munch on with our special PORT wine. We promise you a HOWLING good time at Bonair Winery!
Eaton Hill Winery will have “the HalloWine works” during this special fall weekend – costumes, pumpkins, soup and their award-winning wines. Stop in 10 AM – 5 PM.
Masset Winery will offer (to passport holders) a special discount of 25 % off of three or more bottles of les Vignes de Marcoux or Sandra Jean Red Wine during the annual HalloWine2009 festivities. In addition we will have special pricing for the weekend on our new release Semillon Ice Wine! Of course our 105 year old barn/tasting room will be decorated to celebrate the holiday and we'll have some delicious goodies to snack on too!
Paradisos del Sol: The end of October is also the end of harvest. Corn mazes and pumpkin stands are all around, and the wineries are just wrapping up the season. Paradisos del Sol will offer a 2 for 1 wine special for anyone wearing a bona fide costume and has a Passport. Minimum purchase 4 bottles (2 of those will be for free, the two lower-priced bottles). We, of course, will be in costume and there should be some scary-looking pumpkins around the place, all home grown. Join Paradisos del Sol in a REAL costume this HalloWine2009!
Piety Flats Winery celebrates HalloWine2009. PFW will be serving Kris’ favorite Pumpkin Soup, a tasty orange delight that will have you screaming for more. This is a recipe by Sybille Bauer (Kris’ sister) from old-world Germany, perfect to bring out the vampire or werewolf in you. Pairs with just about any wine but because the recipe comes from Germany we will pair it with Riesling and Gewurztraminer.
Severino Cellars: NO TRICKS....JUST TREATS at Severino Cellars as we celebrate HalloWine2009. Pumpkins from the garden help decorate our 100 year old farm house - tasting room. Sample some of our new cobblers and dips made special for this weekend and visit our "SPIRITS" - which you will find friendly and delicious! We love this holiday and get a little crazy decorating...come see for yourself! All ghouls and boys welcome. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information contact us at 509-829-3800
Silver Lake Winery staff will greet you in some great costumes this annual themed weekend, and for a spook-tacular HalloWine, we are offering 25% off select wines on the 31st. Tasting fee waived for any customer showing up in costume. Themed foods to pair with wines at the tasting bar, too.
Steppe Cellars celebrates HalloWine2009 with flair! Visitors to Steppe Cellars will be able to pick out a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch behind the tasting room. Donations for the pumpkins will go to Project Hope, a world-wide medical support organization; Gabrielle has been involved with Project Hope for the past several years.
