Burgundy - its wines are legendary, considered by many to be the greatest on this planet. The two principal grapes of Burgundy are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and, it is argued, they attain their greatest expression in the soils of Burgundy, producing profound wines capable of long ageing.
Sommelier Arnie Millan will guide you through the legendary wines of Burgundy in a two-part class series Sunday, November 1 and th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
We will cover the history of Burgundy, its Cru system, all the major Côte d'Or villages and the top producers.
The second class will focus on the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâcon. If time permits, we will also cover Beaujolais.
We will taste 6-8 fine wines per class, including Grand Crus, from Riedel stemware. |
