Join Bern’s Steak House Sommelier, Trey Christy, as he presents a three-class series highlighting the French wines of Burgundy, Bordeaux and Champagne. Several styles & vineyards will be tasted and discussed in depth and will be accompanied by SideBern’s artisanal cheeses.

Come toast the wines of Champagne!  We will focus on the exhaustive techniques used to produce this famous, celebratory wine, and walk through the cycles of triumph and tragedy that have shaped Champagne through the years.  Along the way, we’ll also explore the many styles of sparkling wine that embody modern Champagne.

Burgundy is both the greatest & most mystifying wine in the world!  During this class, we will untangle the myths & realities of this great winemaking region and the amazing wines produced here.  As we taste our way through white and red classics from Burgundy, we will also review nearly 2000 years of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir production on the Golden Slope.

Bordeaux

Immerse yourself in the classic flavors and history of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon from Southwestern France.  We will taste a wide array of wines from all over the large and varied Bordeaux region, and look into the evolution that has created one of the world’s most loved wines

Classes will be held on Monday evenings inside the Wine Shop beginning October 12, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. inside the wine shop.  Classes are $40 per person, plus tax.
