 Female stars of stage and screen will join forces with culinary stars of top New York City restaurants at SHARE’s Sixth Annual “A Second Helping of Life” fundraiser on Monday, September 21, at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers. SHARE, a not for profit organization, provides peer support to women with breast or ovarian cancer. VIP reception is 6-7 p.m. General admission: 7 -9:30 p.m. Individual tickets are $300, $500 and $750. Food magazine editors- in- chief Dana Cowin, Food & Wine; Barbara Fairchild, Bon Appétit and Ruth Reichl, Gourmet, and Washington Post wine columnist and author, Karen Page, will be on hand helping 24 guest chefs, including Amy Scherber, Amy’s Bread; Rebecca Charles, Pearl Oyster Bar, Anita Lo, Annisa and Rickshaw Dumpling Bar, Gina DePalma, Babbo and Alex Guarnaschelli, Butter, serve signature dishes to 600 attendees.

 

Joining them from stage and screen include actresses: Jayne Atkinson, Marylouise Burke, Kathleen Chalfant. Tandy  Cronyn, Tovah Feldshuh, Rosemarie Harris, Jessica Hecht, Samantha Mathis, Robin Mattson,  Ellen Parker, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Carole Shelley, Lois Smith and Lili Tayler, and broadcasting mavens Cindy Hsu, WCBS-TV anchor, Brenda Blackman, UPN 9 anchor;  Claudia Marshall, WFUV-FM radio host, Kelly Choi, host of Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters,” Sara Moulton, Gourmet Magazine and television chef, Donna Hanover, former First Lady of the City of New York and contributor to WOR radio, and Valerie Smaldone, media personality

 

Honorees for the night Include honoree Randy Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers,  Suzanne Millard, President and CEO of Turtle & Hughes and Christine Rosner, Global Chief Operation Officer of DB Advisors, Deutsche Bank Group.

 

Live auction lots will include a pink Vespa LX 50 scooter, a  four-night stay in England (London and Dorset) with two round-trip business class airline tickets, a week in an apartment in Venice, Italy, and a Holland America cruise for two to the destination of the bidder’s choice and dinner for four at hard to book restaurant, Rao’s.
