The Necessary Nine - Leadership Skills that Define Our Best Leaders
by Tony Zingale with John Hamm
Monday, November 16, 2009 at 6:00pm
Join two time winning CEO, Tony Zingale, as your host, and keynote author/coach/venture capitalist, John Hamm, who will preview and summarize his upcoming book, The Necessary Nine.
This promises to be an evening of stimulating conversation and
meaningful insights. You will also enjoy networking with Valley leaders
while Chef Peter Armellino serves Michelin-Star Contemporary California
Cuisine and great wines.
The discussion includes:
- What separates "extraordinary" leaders from the merely "good" - the nine skills that define and differentiate the best leaders
- How to lead the "value core" of People, Strategy, and Execution
- How to use leadership authority with efficiency, elegance, and effectiveness - not the "power" play that most leaders misuse.
John Hamm,
is an executive coach, venture capitalist, and recovering operating
executive/CEO in Silicon Valley. He is the author of two of the most
read articles in the history of Harvard Business Review, Why Entrepreneurs Don't Scale, (2002), and The Five Messages Leaders Must Manage (2006).
He was CEO of Whistle Communications, acquired by IBM in 2000, and an
early Board member and advisor/coach to Brocade, IronPort, SiliconStor,
Webify and has served on the boards of over 25 Silicon Valley
companies. John began his career in technology at HP and Adaptec. He
currently coaches a dozen CEOs in a broad range of companies, public
and private, and is an adjunct professor in the Leavy School of
Business, Santa Clara, where he teaches The Sociology of Leadership.
