Wine OR Wine & Food
In this course, we get to pick and choose the most exciting wine regions of the world. At the top of the list are Bordeaux, Tuscany, Barossa, and Napa Valley.
This is an in-depth exploration of what is unique in each region and what it is about the region that has long captured the imagination and palates of the wine world?
You will learn the basic outlines of each region – its climate, geology and grape varieties. In addition, we will cover the important events and people that shaped its history. Most important, you will taste the outstanding wines of the regions. With maps, descriptions, and tables, you will have a record of each wine you taste and where it fits into the region’s vineyards and wine styles.
At the heart of each region’s wine personality is a distinctive quality that sets it apart – come discover it together. Four Tuesdays: September 29: A Night in Bordeaux October 13: A Night in Tuscany October 20: A Night in Barossa October 27: A Night in Napa Valley
In a fun, interactive, and educational environment, we taste eight wines each evening and every participant receives a notebook of regional maps, graphs, and information sheets. The course provides a full review of each regio's wines and “terroir,” its classic food and wine pairings, the standards according to which its wines are normally assessed, and where it stands among the other great wine regions of the world
