"Good wine is a necessity of life for me." - Thomas Jefferson
Hors d'oeuvres by local Celebrity Chef ROY HARLAND
Joel from Classic Wines will be discussing these wonderful wines.
Ventana Pinot Gris
A beautiful, light golden hue. It has an enticing delicate aroma of orange blossoms that delights the senses. Rich rounded and full bodied, flavors of lime and orange first greet the palate followed by crisp apple then complemented with spicy pear on the medium to dry finish.
Bell Syrah
Canterbury Vineyard is situated at the 2,000-foot elevation in Calaveras County in the Sierra Foothills. Uniquely situated on a peninsula surrounded on three sides by the large New Mellones Dam, this 4-acre vineyard enjoys a microclimate with warm sunny days, no fog, and moderated by cool afternoon breezes off the dam. Well-drained soils with a shallow layer of schist restrict root growth, resulting in vines yielding intensely flavored fruit. This 100% Syrah is aged in barrel for eighteen months, and given an additional 3 - 6 months bottle age before release.
Rancho Sisquoc Cabernet
Dark, viscous and deep red in color. The nose is balanced with dark fruits, oak, earth and cola. Hints of black pepper lie in the aromatics along with plum jam. A bold and full mouth house sweet currant, blackberry, vanilla, oak and chocolate. Aged 18 months in French, American and Hungarian oak.
Domaine Laurier Brut Sparkling Wine
A fruity, aperitif-style sparkler that drinks beautifully.
