The numbers don't lie. Argentina is having a record year in 2009 exporting their wines to the United States. It is estimated that approximately 35% of Argentina's total production comes to the USA. Certainly a major factor is price. With the USA as well as much of the world still in a major recession, consumers are migrating to the values. They aren't drinking less, just less expensively. Moreover, the only major currency that the US dollar has gained strength against in 2009 is the Argentine peso. Argentina also has an inherent advantage over most other producers because of their inexpensive land and cheap labor. The cost of producing a bottle of wine in Argentina is about one-fourth of what it costs in California.  Come taste what we think is some of the best that Argentina has to offer.
