This Friday, at our regular free tasting we will feature the two wines for September's wine of the month club:
2006 Château Bouscassé Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh Sec Les Jardins de Bouscassé
Le Jardin Philosophique is a fairly rare white wine made entirely from the Petit Courbu grape. This grape—rescued from oblivion by master winemaker Alain Brumont—is a characterful, traditional Gascon varietal which makes rich wines tasting of lemon and honey.
2008 Herdade do Esporão Monte Velho Red Wine
--"“The nose displays rich berry fruit with a nice spicy character. Lovely density of rich fruit on the palate with a licorice edge and firm, spicy tannins. Impressive stuff.”
