Fratelli Lyon announces a six week wine workshop, “Passport through Italy.” Learn about Italy’s famous wine regions, numerous grape varietals (at this point over 2000) and savor mouth-watering dishes as Julie Mushett, Fine Wine Specialist of Vinifera Imports, and Aniece Meinhold, Sommelière and General Manager of Fratelli Lyon, guide newbie winos through Italy’s many wine regions. “Passport through Italy” begins on Wednesday September 9 at 7:30pm and will recur every Wednesday at the same time. The format of the class includes a flight of 6 – 8 wines (depending on the regions covered) masterfully paired with a selection of delectable stuzzichini, small nibbles, expertly prepared by Chef de Cuisine Alex Pinero.
Launching with an “Italy 101” class, it will review laws, classifications and general description of varietals, geography and terroir. “Students” will be provided with the appropriate tasting notes, maps and set of hand outs so they can fully immerse themselves in Italian food and wine culture. A Gran Finale dinner will close the series with a recap of the regions covered and showcase Italy’s most recognizable wines.
Mark your calendars, the Wednesday classes are as follows:
