Please join us Saturday August 29, 2009 for an exclusive Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin tasting. We will be pouring this elegant champagne from 3pm - 6pm. Admission is free.
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin has a rich and interesting history. The company, established in 1772 by Phillippe Clicquot, was taken over by his widow in 1805. In 1810, she renamed the company Veuve ( means widow in French) Clicquot Ponsardin and released the first vintage champagne. In 1816 she invented remuage or "riddling" a process still used today in the production of champagne. Madame Clicquot retired in 1841 and died at the age of 89 in 1866. 1972 marked the beginning of the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award.
The Widow Clicquot was a formidable woman and Veuve Clicquot
Ponsardin Champagne is a great representation of her creative spirit, ingenuity and fortitude. Don't miss this opportunity to try Veuve Clicquot!
