Some of the best red wines for the price come from the Rhone Valley near France’ s southern coast. These wines are predominantly blends of the fruity syrah grape and the strong Grenache grape which serves as a backbone. These wines are smooth, elegant, and surprisingly inexpensive. Tasting will include Cotes du Ventoux, Cotes du Rhone, Beaumes de Venise, Gigondas, and Vacqueras. Simple cheeses and breads will accompany.
