Domaine Lucien Jacob is one of our favourite Burgundy producers.  Based in the village of Echevronne, just to the north of Beaune, this is very much a family business.  We last saw the eponymous Lucien, a former Deputé (MP) for the Côte d'Or, in May, happily cutting the hedge outside the family home.  The day to day running of the business is now in the hands of daughter Chantal, son Jean-Michel and charming English daughter-in-law, Christine.  We will taste 8 vintages of their Savigny-lès-Beaune - 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999 and 1996.  A great opportunity to follow the evolution of textbook red Burgundy.
