| Many of what we consider our holiday traditions -- from Christmas trees to Santa Claus and stockings -- are actually derived from German holiday traditions, so this is the perfect time of year to take a wine and food trip down the Rhine. We'll start with the delicious and rare German sparkler called Sekt with some tasty hors d'oeuvre. Then class will experience Riesling-friendly dishes like potato gratin and asparagus-stuffed rouladen. Finally, we'll pair up German wines with a nice assortment of German cheeses followed by dessert wine with traditional Christmas cake called Stollen. Gutes essen! |
