Some news organizations are focusing on our state’s rough economic period, we instead, rather focus on the fantastic blends our state produces. Which is why this week we taste you on wines that showcase what this great state of ours, and each of them is a blend. In this line up you’ll enjoy:
California Wine Economic Stimulus Thursday’s ($10.00/$5.00 Wine Club Members) line up:
20007 Pine Ridge – Chenin Blanc/Viognier – California
Aromas of pear, Lychee, and melon with a delicate touch of citrus. A 90-Point Robert Parker rated wine!!
2006 Ceja Vineyards – Vino de Casa (white), Napa Valley, CA
Aromas of honeydew melon, almond marzipan and baked apple pie. A blend of 60% Pinot Grigio, 36% Semillon, 4% Viognier. Only 600 cases produced. A great family story as well.
2007 Cline Cellars – “Cashmere” Rhone Blend – Sonoma, California
This gorgeous blend is made up of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. A flavorful wine offering cherry, raspberry, and chocolate notes with a spicy finish. Parts of the proceeds of this wine go towards a Breast Cancer charity called “Ride to Empower”
2006 Pelerin – RTW (Red Table Wine) – Monterrey, California
63% Syrah, 27% Zinfandel, and 10% Sangiovese. A great blend from a husband and wife team and a very small but quality producer from Monterrey. Red currents blueberries and caramel are followed by flavors of spiced plum and licorice. This is a very expressive and full bodied wine.
