Celebrate ‘Fat Tuesday’(or el Martes Gordo) at our third annual ¡Carnival! Celebration. Carnival has been celebrated in Madrid since Medieval times. This tradition was interrupted for many decades by General Franco, who banned the carnival during the Spanish Civil War. In 1976 this ban was lifted and ever since, the popular event has been celebrated every year, ending with the traditional ‘burial of the sardine.’ This evening will include costumes, dancing, dinner, and of course, wine!
