Off The Vine – Gulleyan Winery - $12 ($8 OTV Members)
All Gulleyan Wines are made from hand picked grapes from small family owned vineyards in famous Paso Robles here in Southern California. This area is known for its micro-climate and optimum grape growing conditions. We only use new French Oak barrels for aging, we leave the wine unfiltered and we never pass the wine through high pressure pumps.
Jacob Gularian, the visionary winemaker was introduced to winemaking by his grandfather as a young boy in the fertile vineyards of Bekaa Valley, known for its red wines (Historians estimate that wine was first produced in Lebanon about 4,000 years ago. The ruins of a temple devoted to the Roman god Bacchus stand in the city of Baalbek). The vineyards were Jacob's playground.
Settling in California and after starting a family and pursuing a career, Jacob discovered many opportunities to follow his dream of making his own wine. Jacob's enology education and grape growing experience was all he needed as a foundation to choose a quality selection of vineyards in Paso Robles as source of his wines. His wines are becoming quickly known and are currently sold in many states.
2008 Rose – 67% Grenache, 33% Merlot
Carefully crafted from 67% Grenache and 33% merlot grapes. The wine has enchanting flavors of ripe red berry, floral aroma and is defined by a crisp acidity.
2006 Cabernet Franc
Dark red, light, smooth and fresh with gentle fruit aromas aged for 24 months in French Oak barrels. Perfect balance. This is the Winemaker's favorite and our's aS well.
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
Red ruby Generous in the mouth with fruit driven flavors of wild cherry currant and ripe fruits. Well balances with fine oak tannins.
2007 Syrah
This full bodied wine is smooth, velvety and very fruity. The wine excels with beautifully ripened black fruit flavors that actively stimulate the palate and gains depth and richness on the finish. It displays blackberry, cherry, plum jam and cassis aroma with hints of Provincial herbs in the background.
2007 Zinfandel
The medium to full bodied wine is crafted by using old-vine Zinfandel grapes. planted in 1972, aged 11 months in new French Oak barrels. Classic Raspberry aroma and flavor, it is a complex and balanced wine with excellent aging potential.
2006 4 Pavino – 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
This sweet Dessert Wine is crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 24 months in new French Oak barrels. The wine has delicious rich and fresh fruit flavors. Finishes with ripe sweet tannins.
