Boston Ceviche / Grilled Peach / Pepporncini / Crispy Speck
paried with
Prosecco by Soligo ~ This Prosecco-based sparkler (with fruit from outside the traditional Prosecco zone) offers creamy froth and sweet notes of peach, mint leaf and almond nut. It has medium intensity, nice crispness
First Course
Roasted Dayboat Scallop / Celery / Green Apple / Marcona Almond / Salsa Verde
paired with
Vernaccia di San Gimignano by Tenuta Mormoraia 2007 ~ Straw yellow with intense fresh fruity aromas. Hints of hawthorn and apples. The Palate is Harmonious, balanced and persistent with a pleasantly sour finish.
Second Course
Muscovy Duck Breast / Dried Cherry Bordelaise / Radicchio/ Truffled Potato
paired with
Chianti Classico by Fontodi 2005 ~ Medium intensity, bright ruby-garnet colour. Really earthy nose with notes of forest floor and truffles supplementing the red cherry fruit. Medium to crisp acidity with a medium level of silky tannins. Elegantly styled with a nice long earthy finish.
Third Course
Grilled Dry Aged Sirloin / Fresh Corn Polenta / Cherry Tomato Succotash
paried with
Brunello di Montalcino by Tenuta Friggiali 1999 ~ The 1999 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Friggiali is from the estate’s home vineyards, located above those of Angelo Gaja and Gianfranco Soldera. Ripe and with attractive aromas of incense and white pepper, it is fresh, vigorous, and continuous in flavor, medium to full bodied and quite balanced.
Fourth Course
Sicilian Ice Cream Sandwhich / Goat Cheese Gelato / Nectarine Jam
paired with
Orvieto Classico Superiore Dolce, Calcaia Muffa Nobile by Barberani 2005 ~ The estate 2005 Calcaia Dolce is a late-harvest wine made from botrytised fruit, with a touch of Sauvignon used to enhance the qualities of the native varieties that make up most of the blend. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak. The Calcaia Dolce reveals a high-toned bouquet that melds into jasmine, peaches, flowers, minerals and citrus peel. Fresh, zesty notes make an appearance on the long, refined finish.
