Wine OR Wine & Food Event

Wine OR Wine & Food

Yvon Mau is one of the largest wine importing companys in the world. Founded in Gironde sur Dropt in 1897, the Yvon Mau wine-trading company has joined the very select club of companies that are over one hundred years old. Ever loyal to its region and village of origin, the company has grown to become one of the major players in Bordeaux wines. Such a long presence in the region has allowed the importer to select the best plots for sourcing, producing amazing wines at tiny price points.

WINES:

2008 Yvon Mau Colombard Chardonnay_ Vin de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne.  A fifty fifty blend with pears, apples, and melon on the fresh, and luscious but clean palate. Nice acidity and a soft floral note. $8.99

2007 Chateau Grand-Champs Bordeaux Blanc_ 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Beautiful herbal laden grapefruit on the nose. Concentrated citrus and mild pear on the palate. Finishes with a snap of acidity and minerals. $8.09

2008 Yvon Mau Merlot_ Vin de Pays de L'Aude. 100% Merlot. Unusually smooth, with a velvety texture, flavours and aromas full of ripe cherries and berries. $8.99

2007 Chateau Tour de Boyrin_ Graves AOC. 50% Cab, 40% Merlot, 10% Cab Franc. The beautiful herbal hints of classic Graves Rouge surround the dark fruit flavors, that dance around a fleshy core. $10.79

2004 Chateau Barrail Chevrol_ Fronsac AOC. 80% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc, 5% Cab Sauvignon.  This wine boasts an intense, deep color. The bouquet is most expressive with hints of ripe red fruit. Delightful on the palate with lots of body, plum, leather and a nice long-lasting finish. $11.69
