Many of you have noticed our ever expanding selection of half-bottles in the store.  They have become part of our wine selections per your requests, so this Saturday, we share with you, through our tasting a few of the gems we’ve discovered for our half bottle arsenal.  We’ve worked hard to bring you the best of the half bottles out there, so join us as we taste some fantastic half bottles.

2005 Domaine Barat – Chablis – Chablis, France

This fantastic wine made with Chardonnay grapes comes from vines fifteen to fifty years old.  This Chablis is light and well balanced with green fruit, floral, and mineral notes.  Fresh and vibrant fresh elegance, not a bit of oak to be had in this one.

2006 Conzorio Vini - Brugneto di San Marino – Brugneto, San Marino

From the tiny republic of San Marino, located within Italy, comes this red wine, produced from Sangiovese grapes.  Bright cherry aromas and flavors with medium tannins and acidity perfect for Italian dishes.

2007 Dashe – Zinfandel – Dry Creek Valley, California

A stellar Zinfandel from a stellar vintage, this wine is dark red, delicious zin with loads of fruit flavors and a velvety, voluptuous texture.  It has it all, elegance, intensity, and complexity. 

2005 Bravante Vineyards – Trio “Red Wine” – Napa Valley, California

Recently rated 92 points by Wine Spectator and a stunner of a red.  Blended from Cabernet, Merlot, and Cab Franc. This wine packs a punch and it does it elegantly.  A fantastic way to treat yourself to a wine that maybe a bit too much at the full size bottle price.
