Cabernet
Franc is far older than Cabernet Sauvignon (it's one of that grape's
parents), yet it gets far less attention. While Cabernet Sauvignon is
considered red wine royalty, Cabernet Franc is undeservedly accorded
peasant status. In this tasting we'll discover the many charms of
Cabernet Franc - its distinctive floral aromas, its vibrant raspberry
fruit, and racy and refreshing minerality. We'll focus primarily on
France's Loire Valley but also taste Cab. Franc based blends from
California and Spain. The wines will be:
