Wine OR Wine & Food

The Rebels are coming and they want all our Rebel Red Wine!! Take in some history (and some wine) as the 1st Rockbridge Artillery makes camp here at Adams County Winery.  On July 25th from 9AM to 6 PM and July 26th from 9 AM to 2 PM the unit will be conducting a living history encampment that recreates camp life of the War Between the States.  They will also periodically fire one of the replica cannons used during the war.  Members of this unit (called Redlegs) fired the first shots in the Shenandoah Valley on July 2nd, 1861 and continued with Lee’s Army until the surrender at Appomattox on April 9th, 1865. The encampment will overlap with one of the Winery’s free summer concerts when Fretwork takes the stage with Jazz music/songs on Saturday the 25th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  So, when you’ve had your fill of the battlefield, ditch the bottled water, get yourself a glass of wine, and enjoy a little bit of history (and music) at Adams County Winery!
