Wine OR Wine & Food
Stop by this Tuesday between 5:00 and 8:00, when we’ll be pouring samples of four Pinot Noir selections, a varietal described by Joel Fleischman of Vanity Fair as "the most romantic of wines, with so voluptuous a perfume, so sweet an edge, and so powerful a punch that, like falling in love, they make the blood run hot and the soul wax embarrassingly poetic.” We can’t guarantee Tuesday’s line-up will have that effect on you, but you’ll probably be quite pleased with it, nevertheless:
2006 Primarius Pinot Noir, Oregon
Silky with layers of fruit that unfold on the palate, this Oregon Pinot Noir lives up to its name - Primarius, Latin for distinguished. Sourced from high quality Oregon vineyards, Primarius speaks of the state's idyllic climate for producing Pinot Noir.
2007 The Four Graces Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon
This wine is Oregon Pinot Noir at its best. Enticing, vibrant, dark ruby-purple in color, it presents ripe pomegranate and cranberry on the palate, laced by an earthy spiciness.
2005 Tolosa Edna Ranch Pinot Noir, Edna Valley, California
Just delicious. It’s so soft and silky, so easy to sip, and so seductive in lush cherry, cola, vanilla and spice flavors.
Wine Enthusiast Score: 89 Points
2006 Amisfield Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand
A strong follow-up to the excellent 2005, Amisfield’s 2006 Pinot Noir seems riper and weightier, marrying dark black cherry and plum fruit with hints of chocolate and spice cake. Finishes with soft tannins and a slightly dusty feel.
