It’s All  About the Wine !  Sierra Vista Winery invites you to barrel taste our 2007 big reds on Saturday, August 8th.  The perfect time for barrel tasting is right before wines are bottled.  Most wineries bottle in late summer or early fall to empty the barrels  for the coming  harvest season.   Since the wine has received its’ final blending, this is an ideal time to taste and buy 2007 Futures at pre-release prices.

The 2006 Old Clone Zinfandel, 2006 Red Rock Ridge Syrah, and 2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon wines will be released this same day.  You can taste and compare vintages.   2006 was an exceptional red vintage year for us and we urge people to try these high quality wines before they are gone.  Our finer wines are produced in limited quantities and traditionally, the Old Clone Zinfandel sells out quickly. The cost for the barrel tasting is a very modest $5.00 a person -  lunch is separate!  Admission is free for Sierra Vista Wine Club Members-  two persons per membership.

Summer is a great time to come to the winery and enjoy a picnic on the lawn with Sierra Vista’s unsurpassed view of the Sierra peaks with the vineyard in the foreground.  Bring your own picnic or if you would like to treat yourself to an exceptional afternoon, Allez! Good Food on The Go (in  El Dorado) will deliver boxed lunches to the winery.  Choose pasta or potato salad, as well as a beef, chicken or veggie sandwich.  Your lunch will also include artisan cheese, tart and cookie.  The cost is $12 for an Allez!
