The Colony’s Jazz on the Beach Returns with New York Yankee and Acclaimed Guitarist Bernie Williams
The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort brings back it’s popular Jazz on the Beach series Saturday, July 25. Guests can sink their feet into the sand for an evening of Colony cuisine, cocktails and live Jazz. Famed New York Yankee, 4-time World Series Champion, 5-time All-Star and accomplished guitarist Bernie Williams joins us for a night on the beach to celebrate his critically acclaimed second album, "Moving Forward". The Puerto Rico native is a classically trained musician who developed his love for playing guitar alongside baseball, while listening to salsa, meringue, and 80’s rock. "Moving Forward” embraces those early influences, while also reflecting a unique mixture of classical and jazz guitar topped-off with additional Latin rhythms. Bernie will play selections from "Moving Forward", take questions from the audience and sign his latest CD at the meet & greet after his set.
Tampa-based Jazz and R&B group On Que will follow Williams’ performance with a set of their popular standards and requested favorites.
This special double bill entertains during a night of cocktails, multiple stations of cuisine prepared by The Colony’s award-winning culinary team and a spectacular sunset over the Gulf. Tickets for Jazz on the Beach are $50 and $85 for VIP admission. General admission tickets include beer, wine, cuisine, valet parking, and the show. VIP ticket holders will also enjoy complimentary cocktails, special designated seating, additional hospitality, and table service. Live music begins at 6:00, but guests are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 with their blankets & chairs to claim a spot in the sand.
