Alliance Française de Chicago: Wines from France Alliance Française de Chicago, 810 N. Dearborn St., info@af-chicago.org, (312) 337 1070 Classes for those interested in learning about the history, terroir, grapes, and philosophies behind each great region. Hone your tasting skills and zero in on your wine preferences. Five different wines will be sampled at each class. Class starts at 6:15 pm. Series of six classes: $245 / Individual classes: $45 September 24 · La méthode champenoise: How is Champagne produced and what makes it so unique October 15 · Discovering the Loire: France’s most diverse and underappreciated AOC region November 19 · Baffling Burgundy: Two grapes, yet so much complexity February 18 · Alsace: France’s varietal wine region March 25 · Rhône: The region that should be two April 22 · Bordeaux: Mastering the basics Classes will be taught by Megan Wiig, a graduate of the prestigious Organisation Internationale du Vin et des Eaux de Vie where she studied the marketing, management, and economics of global wine and spirits industries. Megan has presented wine lectures internationally and is fluent in French and German, in addition to her native English.
