Announcing Wine Education Classes at Winestyles Asheville

We would like to offer everyone an invitation to attend one or both of our wine education classes. Maximum class size is 20 so sign up early for this event.

White Wine 101 will be offered on Wednesday, July 22, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM. In this introductory course to white wines we will taste and learn 4 of the basic white varietals and will be led by Chuck Blethen (see Chuck's bio below).

Red Wine 101 will be offered on Wednesday, August 5, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM. We will taste and explore 4 red wine varietals and again will have Chuck Blethen as our instructor. Please see below to read about Chuck’s background.

Each class is $25.00. (Wine Club members pay only $20.00) Classes include handouts, wine evaluation chart, flavor/aroma chart and a complimentary wine glass. Please RSVP to jshaw@winestyles.net or call 828-277-WINE (9463) to reserve a spot in each class. July 22 class deadline is July 18th. August 5 class deadline is August 1st.

Special Offer: Sign up for both classes and pay only $40.00. (Wine Club members $35.00)

Our instructor for both classes is Chuck Blethen. Chuck is a DTM in Toastmasters International and Membership Chair for District 37 for 2008-09. He has traveled to 65 countries logging over 5 million air miles and speaks Spanish, German and French. He has traveled many times to Australia to work with the winemakers in Hunter Valley.  He has presented many “edu-tainment” seminars on wine tasting/wine etiquette aboard cruise ships.  Chuck has made hundreds of presentations to Fortune 500 companies, and he has been a guest speaker/lecturer at various colleges and universities.  Chuck has published over 25 articles in various national and international magazines. He now teaches wine related courses at AB Tech in Asheville NC, and he is a consultant for cold-hardy, high-altitude sustainable viticulture. His new book “The Wine Etiquette Guide” was released by Trafford Publishing in July 2006.  Audiences proclaim him to be fun, friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and a high-energy speaker. He is frequently called “Mr. Enthusiasm”.
