On July 16th, Chef Schultz pairs Bear Republic's artisan ales in a five course flavor extravaganza. Award winning brewer Richard Norgrove will be in attendance and will describe the beers.

Dinner starts with a seven year old Belgian-style strong ale deftly paired with butter poached sea scallops, truffled whitefish caviar, and Tahitian vanilla. The brewery's flagship Racer 5 India Pale Ale sets off a grilled Treviso salad with heirloom tomatoes, followed by Nuernburger bratwurst and Red Rocket ale. For the main, the brewer's Big Bear Black stout delivers a roasty-herbal counterpoint to house-smoked Niman ranch pork leg accompanied by grilled regional peaches. The final course pairs a nutty and rich nine year old reserve barleywine with house-made caramel corn, Valhrona chocolate, and spiced cashews.
This beer dinner is the fourth offered by Chef Schultz, pairing bold California craft beers with his hearty fusion of Californian, European, and Midwest cuisine.
