Please join us as we welcome back our favorite Australian winemaker and winery owner, Chris Loxton. If you remember we featured Chris and his awesome wines at our June meeting three years ago. Chris is the owner and winemaker of Loxton Cellars, a small production winery in Sonoma, CA. Loxton Cellars focuses on Syrah and Zinfandel. Syrah from his roots growing up in Australia and Zinfandel from his adopted home of California.
Chris and his wines have received recognition from Andrea Immer Robinson when she included one of Chris's wines in her exclusive Andrea's A-List Wine Club shipments. If you did not attend our June 2006 event, you may have tasted Chris's Syrah Port at our 2008 Wine and Chocolate event (it was one of our top three wines of the evening!).
You can purchase Loxton Cellar wines 'by the glass' at Solera from 6 to 8 PM. Solera will be pouring the 2007 Hawk Hill Chardonnay, 2006 Hillside Syrah, 2006 Hillside Zinfandel and 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. Additionally, Chris will have samples of his 2007 Late Harvest Viognier which is a tribute to his 2006 visit to the Finger Lakes. Chris will be available to talk about his wines, answer any questions you have or give you the opportunity to join his wine club.
Although there is no cost to attend the event, we would appreciate your registration so that we have an idea of the number of people that will be attending. Please come early to ensure that you have a chance to sample a few of Chris's wines and spend a few minutes talking to Chris. Please be advised, there is an additional food menu available at an additional fee.
