Complimentary Tasting: Italian Wines and Olive Oil
Drop in this Saturday between 3:00 and 6:00 and sample a great combo – Italian wines and olive oil.  We’ll be pouring the six wines below, and Paul Colletti, importer of fine organic olive oil from Sicily, will be here providing tastes of his product for you to try.

2007 La Vis Dipinti Pinot Grigio, Trentino-Alto Adige
Delicately perfumed with scents of flowers and spice, it features almond, tangerine and apricot fruits. Softly textured and balanced with a crisp citrus finish. A delicious aperitif or pair with seafood and salads.

2007 Araldica Gavi Luciana, Piedmont, $14.82
Light straw yellow color, with aromas of grapefruit, green apple and lemon. Light to medium bodied white wine with balanced citrus and green fruit flavors, mineral overtones and a lovely, refreshing, dry finish.

2006 Cataldi Madonna Montepulciano, Abruzzo, $21.99
This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo shows a deep ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, little transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean and pleasing aromas of black cherry, blueberry, plum, carob and violet followed by pleasing aromas of walnut-husk. In the mouth it has good correspondence to the nose, good balance, agreeable tannins, good body and intense flavors. The finish is persistent with flavors of black cherry and plum.

2006 Morgante Nero d'Avola, Sicily, $17.99
Intensely ruby-red in color with supple aromas of ripe black cherry and blackberry, followed by spicy notes of charcoal, vanilla and black pepper. On the palate, bursting flavors of ripe fruit and exotic spice are balanced by pleasant acidity and silky tannins. Delicious with roasted meats, eggplant parmigiana, pasta, grilled pork chops and veal casseroles.  Drink: Now-2010

2006 Argiolas Costera Rosso Cannonau, Sardinia $17.99
The intense, ruby red color of this wine tends toward orange with age. The full bouquet of sweet black cherry, pepper, and licorice is typical of the Cannonau grape.  Warm and full bodied on the palate with excellent texture, ripe fruit flavors and pleasant tannins, Costera is an excellent food wine that is best enjoyed with roast beef with herbs, filet mignon, stews and sharp cheeses. Drink: 2009-2014.

2006 Tenuta Sant'Antonio Ripasso Monti Garbi Valpolicella, Veneto $19.98
Ruby red color with a bouquet of red fruit and cherry.  Soft, enchanting taste with a spicy finish. 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 10% Croatina & Oseleta from the 'Monte Garbi' site. Two-week fermentation followed by the re-pass of Amarone fruit.  Aged one year in French oak.
