Bodega Numanthia Termes Tasting

featuring

Manuel Lozada, winemaker

“This extraordinary effort shows what the new frontier of wine quality, in this case Spain's Toro district, can produce when a conscientious, no compromising producer sets out to do something world-class. There are a number of serious wines emerging from Toro, but Numanthia may be the most perfectionist of the appellation. Made from old (70-100 years), ungrafted vines planted at an elevation of 2300 feet, this 100% Tinta de Toro (the local name for Tempranillo) comes from a vineyard with sandy, chalky-textured soils overlaying clay. This wine will prove to be a breakthrough effort for the Toro appellation.” Robert Parker

With their first release in 1998 the Eguren family quickly established Bodega Numanthia Termes as the premier wine of the then little known Toro appellation. Soon the quality of the wines produced by winemaker Manuel Lozada were recognized as being among the highest quality produced in all of Spain.  Join us at Sigel’s-Greenville (5757 Greenville Avenue) on Thursday, July 16th  from 5-7pm as Manuel Lozada, winemaker for Bodega Numanthia Termes, leads us through a tasting of the current releases from the 2006 vintage. To RSVP for this free tasting please contact David Waddington or Ben Coyle at store04wine@sigels.com or 214/739-4012.
