Okay, it's not that the beers are illegal, it's that they are not legally beer...at least not in Germany, and not before 1993.  For thousands of years, wonderful beers were made without hops.  The Reinhietsgebot is no longer in place but hops are now recognized as a standard ingredient in beer while gruits all but faded away.  Well, gruits are making a comeback and we have a class in which you can taste and learn all about these amazing brews.
