The 2nd Annual Wine Room Winery Excursion

Come join us for fun filled day of wine tasting and relaxation

For our Second Annual Wine Room Winery Excursion we will be heading deep into the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, one of California’s oldest wine-making regions. Our first stop will be Heart O’ The Mountain Winery located on the former estate of renowned director Alfred Hitchcock. The vineyards were originally established in 1887; today the winery is owned by the Brassfield family and produces handcrafted, ultra-premium Pinot Noir wines. Normally closed to the public, we will be treated to a private tour of the winery, estate and gardens lead by winemaker Brandon Brassfield. Brandon is sure to regale us with stories of Mr. Hitchcock’s legendary parties for Hollywood’s elite during the golden age of film. The highlight of the tour will be an exclusive vertical tasting of Heart O’ The Mountain Winery’s 05, 06 and 07 Pinot Noir wines. Lunch will be catered by the Wine Room’s own Michelle Babayan, which we will enjoy on the patio overlooking magnificent Monterey Bay.

We will depart Heart O’ The Mountain Winery after a leisurely lunch for Burrell School Vineyards and Winery. Located on the estate originally settled in 1854 by Lyman J. Burrell, David and Anne Moulton began development of the vineyards in 1973. When school is in at the Burrell School Vineyards and Winery it’s sure to be all play and no work for our group as we taste through some of the winery’s celebrated Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet wines, each capturing the unique teroir of this mountainous region. With names such as Teacher’s Pet, Principal’s Choice and Detention Red our tasting is sure to be an educational experience.
