Thursday (7/2/09) 6-8pm at Khoury's On S. Eastern
Thinking about serving some sparkling wine for 4th of July? We are tasting was is arguably one of the best values in sparkling wines, Gruet Wines.  Carrie from Vin Sauvage along with her friend Nils Becker from Gruet Winery will be in Khoury's sampling a few different sparkling wines.  The Gruet family has been producing Champagne in Bethon, France, since 1952, and in 1984 made the decision to plant an experimental vineyard in New Mexico.  In 1989 Gruet released there first wines to the market, which was very well received putting New Mexico on the wine making map!

Carrie will also be pouring the Chardonnays from Mt Eden winery which has had several of their wines land on the Wine Spectator top 100 wines list.  We will even have a chance to taste the new 2005 Mt Eden estate Chardonnay which received 93 points by Wine Spectator, and the previous 2004 vintage was listed at #12 on Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2008.
