Do you know which cheeses go best with sparkling wine? What pairs best with blue cheese: sweet dessert wines or big reds? If you’re interested in answering these questions and more, join chef and wine instructor Cynthia Bloebaum for an evening of some fabulous cheese and wine pairings. You will sample 8 cheeses along with 8 wines, including sparkling, white, red and dessert wines, plus various relishes and accompaniments such as nuts and charcuterie to intensify the experience. Chef Cynthia will offer extra information and handouts for you to plan your next trip to the cheese store. Cynthia Bloebaum is a San Francisco Bay Area chef and wine instructor whose love and enthusiasm for food and wine led to her studying the field of epicurean arts in Europe and California. She has cooked at and been chef for numerous San Francisco restaurants throughout her 25 year career. Bloebaum has been the chef for wine classes at UC Berkeley Extension and has taught numerous wine classes for that institution. She has taught wine classes for Northern California’s Whole Foods stores, and teaches food and wine classes at San Mateo Community College. She also conducts her own classes on regional foods and wines of numerous wine growing areas, leads food and wine excursions throughout the world, caters wine themed events and parties, and is an accomplished caterer, speaker, cooking instructor, wine trainer, wine judge and consultant. |
