We will be pouring the following outstanding five wines directly imported by Best of Argentina:
1. Mendoza Torrontes, Bodega Cicchitti 2007
(Cicchitti has received numerous international awards and acclaim from wine critics including Robert Parker)
2. San Juan Tannat "Cuesta del Viento", Bodegas Millas Hermanos 2006
(north of Mendoza, San Juan's sunny, high altitude climate is perfect for unusual varietals like Tannat)
3. Mendoza Malbec Gran Reserva, Bodega Cicchitti 2006
4. Mendoza "Gran Assemblage", Carmelo Patti 2002
(Argentina's grand cru wine. Carmelo Patti is regarded as one of Argentina's top enologists and his small production winery is pilgrimage for those in search o Argentina's finest)
5. Mendoza "Nectar", Bodega Cicchitti NV
Presiding over the tasting is Ines Colombetti, President of Best of Argentina Imports. A native of Argentina, Ines conducts tastings and classes on Argentine wines around the Bay Area. Her particular expertise is on the small, family-owned-and-operated Argentine wineries. She will guide us through the tasting and discuss the wines and their producers. To any wine lover interested in Argentine wines, Ines' knowledge and insight are enlightening.
