Food

A common debate amongst beer aficionados and wine connoisseurs - what is, in fact, the better pairing with food? Wine? Beer? Are they equally complementary?

On this evening, Chef Jason Tucker will be cooking/demoing a 4-course tasting menu and mediating this friendly squabble. But ultimately, the verdict is YOURS to decide.  As usual, we encourage friendly competition here at Gordon's (see Sommelier Smackdown), so with each dish, you, the audience, will vote on the better pairing.  More importantly, this event will put your palate to the test to notice subtleties in both the beers and wines we'll be tasting with each course.

"Four courses, four wines, four beers." Listen for our 103.3 Oldies radio spot about this event (and others).

Beer guy: Nate Kruback, Craft Beer Manager, Gordon's

Wine gal: Lindsay Cohen, Marketing & Events Director, Gordon's Fine Wine & Culinary Center

Lindsay took down Nate in the last showdown (by only a few votes) on March 6th, so Nate will surely be back in full force to redeem himself.

Menu

1st course - Spice grilled calamari with baby arugula and smoked onion salad

2nd course - Lemon-thyme risotto finished with silky asparagus puree and imported Pecorino

3rd course - Rosemary rubbed pork loin served with bacon-potato hash and sweet corn-avocado salsa

Dessert - Warm chocolate cake spiced with red chili and cinnamon, cappucino creme anglaise

For all culinary center events after 6 PM, we ask that you park in the fenced-in lot behind the culinary center off of Prospect St.  You can enter the culinary center through the doors under the maroon awning.  If you park in the Main St lot, you will be asked to move your vehicle. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
