Using simple ingredients and strong flavors to create exciting and seductive contrasts, the peasant cuisine of Southern Italy has influenced food culture the world over.

Cooking from the heart, memory and our senses, Via Vanti! proudly presents Southern Serenade. This “cultural discovery dinner” will differ from our previous wine dinners in a couple of ways. To more fully experience the variety of Southern Italy’s regions we will sample
more dishes – eight! – served famiglia style in keeping with local traditions. (As always, of course, the foods will be paired with four wonderful wines from their respective
regions.)

And as a special treat, we will also feature a unique programof musical accompaniment by John La Barbera --a talented performer and recognized authority on Italian folk music. He will play from his just-released book/ CD of “Traditional Southern Italian Mandolin & Fiddle
Tunes” – many songs inspired by our featured ingredients.
Hence Southern Serenade!
