You do not need to be in the trade to take any of our professional courses. If you are a serious enthusiast then you can participate in any of our professional courses. Or, if you are considering a career change, then our professional courses will provide you with the education to make the jump to the wine industry.
Tuition and Fees: $1875 for the Intensive Study Advanced Wine Course
Certification: There are five different certification options available upon successful
completion of the diploma program. These are:
*Executive Wine Sommelier
*Executive Chef of Wine Arts
*Senior Wine Manager
*Senior Wine Merchant
*Senior Cellar Manager
Program Description: In this Level II Certification program you must complete: (1) a written exam on viniculture, (2) individual written and tasting exams on major wine producing countries, (3) a practical exam on formal sommelier service, and (4) develop a personal tasting notebook that contains a minimum
of 150 written individual tasting evaluations. (Credit for 100 tastings is received by taking the course.)
Exams: A minimum passing grade is 85%. A 90% is required to continue on to Level III diploma programs.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Guild Certifi cation Seminar, or similar seminar from another organization. This seminar is open to all professionals and wine enthusiasts who have successfully completed the Guild Certification seminar. Or, experience in the industry in lieu of taking the
seminar.
When Offered: This certification course is offered on August 17th-23rd & November 9th-13th 2009
