Wine OR Wine & Food

Two of Long Island’s Top Wineries will be show cased this weekend. We will have several selections from Pindar and Duckwalk. Pindar Vineyards and Duckwalk Vineyards create award-winning wines and were founded by Dr. Herodotus "Dan" Damianos who helped create the winemaking industry on Long Island in the early 1980’s. His vision has, over nearly 30 years, turned these Vineyards into Long Island’s best-known wine producers.

"We are always looking for new ways to lessen our environmental footprint, and we are tapping into Long Island itself to do so. Duck Walk North uses geothermal energy for heating and cooling, pumping well water from deep beneath the vineyards that then returns to the earth, a zero-emissions system that has drastically reduced their use of fossil fuels.

The vineyards is also environmentally friendly where it counts the most: in the vineyards themselves. They grow specially-selected grasses between the rows of grape vines which naturally enrich the soil with nitrogen, replacing chemical fertilizers. We believe that by taking care of the environment, Pindar and Duck Walk Vineyards are rewarded with exceptional grapes that we transform into our delicious wine."

Features free tastings of:

Sunflower Chardonnay

Lush vanilla and caramel notes, with a back palate of apple and pear. Perfectly balanced with a bright splash of acidity.

Pythagoras

Round and full characteristics of Merlot with the slight herbaceousness of Cabernets. This award-winning blend has been named "Best US Red Blend".

Duck Walk Windmill White

A delightful blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Cayuga, this off-dry white is extremely well-balanced with a pleasing roundness on the palate.
