Arm yourself in the fight against vinous boredom in this tasting. We’ll take four familiar and well-known wine styles and grape varieties, and pair each with a similar but lesser-known alternative. Each pair will share key traits of body, style and character, but introduce you to the joys of trying something different.

During the tasting, you’ll learn how to identify and describe the elements in a wine that most define its character and style, and how to experiment with confidence.

The eight wines tasted include some ideas for different but affordable everyday drinking, as well as some finer wines such as Chablis and cru bourgeois Bordeaux. The tasting will be led by Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine.

Cornfields Restaurant with Rooms is 10 minutes from the county town of Bedford. Special rates for dinner and accommodation are available, subject to availability.
