| The Rippingtons and Craig Chaquico; The Rippingtons are led by guitarist Russ Freeman and features a dynamic group of solo artists, each a consummate musician in his own right. Each member, past and present, has also performed in music realms outside of jazz, making The Rippingtons collaborations multifaceted explorations of diverse styles and rhythms. Craig Chaquico gives credence to the oxymoron "rock and roll prodigy," having written his first song at age 12, eventually joining the Bay Area supergroup Jefferson Airplane. In the early 90’s, Chaquico branched out as a solo artist and his records were instant hits in the contemporary jazz genre, earning him several #1 records. |
