Latin American cooking is often generalized as one homogeneous type of cuisine, when the area is actually home to an array of diverse dishes that vary wildly from nation to nation. We begin this hands-on series by exploring the unique culture and cuisine of several South American countries to discover the similarities between them, and how each sets itself apart.
In addition to being the one of the world’s major food producers, Argentina is distinguished by its cuisine’s deep resemblance to Spanish, Italian, French and other European cuisines rather than the cooking of Latin American countries. In this 3-hour, hands-on class we’ll prepare Empanadas, Marinated Skirt Steak with Chimichurri sauce, Argentine Rice Croquettes, Churros with Dulce de Leche, and Alfajores, traditional South American cookies.
Finally, you’ll get to sit down and enjoy the fabulous meal you’ve created while our own resident wine and spirits expert will lead you on a guided wine tasting on some of Argentina’s best bottlings!
