This course is perfect for those with a good basic knowledge of wine. It is the natural progression after completing the Foundation course. However, the Foundation is not a prerequisite before starting the Intermediate.
We have a large number of general interest wine enthusiasts as well as people working in the hospitality industry and wine trade. This is a great course because there is sufficient time to go into more detail about all the major countries producing wine. In the 9 week course you will taste over 85 wines. We always showcase some of the top wines of each country.
During the course you will learn about:
* Growing grapes * Making wine * The art of tasting * Food and wine matching * The classic grape varieties * French and German wines * Italian, Spanish and Portuguese wines * New world wine regions * Sparkling and Fortified wines * The major spirits
The Intermediate exam involves a multiple choice question paper with 50 questions. The pass mark is 55%. Our pass rate is over 90% for this course. The exam takes place at the very end of each course. |
